The Pattern

A month ago, I had a huge trigger about my future self crisis.

I’m not sure whether it’s a real thing, but I surely have had it. In fact, it’s still going on till today.

I’m having insomnia, loss of appetite, my hair falling off, terrible mood swings, and a massive trust issue which turned into a feeling of repugnance & resentment to everyone, especially myself.

Until one day, this notification showed up from an app called The Pattern. A witch app as I would like to call it, because it just always knows everything. Like it did at that moment.

It says, “This is one of the most important times of your life, when your purpose starts to reveal itself.”

At first, I wasn’t really paying attention to it. Until, I opened it.

And it shows a longer version of the notification which then I click “Go Deeper” and read through all of the pages as they break down everything. This is what it says:

This is a compilation of The Pattern’s notifications that I received as a wake-up call and a cure for my dilemma.

It struck me. Somehow, it becomes the answer to the dilemma of my future self.

I know it’s absurd to believe in something that’s potentially just a silly algorithm, but here I am taking a leap and making one of the biggest decisions based on a simple notification.

As the curtain rises on the New Year of 2024, I’m embarking on a new chapter of my life — a decision steeped in courage and self-determination. With just two days until my last at the current job, I’m transitioning into a new role as my own boss, a free agent, ready to pursue the dreams I’ve deferred for too long. Here’s to embracing change, chasing passions, and the exciting journey ahead!
